Treasurer’s Award Debuts at FiO

Deborah Herrin, OSA’s senior director for information technology, is the recipient of OSA’s first annual Treasurer’s Award. The award recognizes an employee who has made significant contributions to the society and its members. Herrin was honored in particular for her work bringing Optics Express, the first open-access journal in optics, online in 1997, as well as countless other contributions during her long service with OSA. She accepted the honor at Frontiers in Optics (FiO) 2016. More information on the new award is at www.osa.org/treasurers_award.
