Looking Back, Looking Ahead
This year marks the end of Stephen Fantone’s 18-year term as OSA Treasurer, but it won’t be the last we see of him.

Fantone has been an OSA member for 40 years and has served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee from 1996–2013. To recognize and honor his contributions, the society recently renamed the service award to the Stephen D. Fantone Distinguished Service Award. When he’s not volunteering his time to OSA, Fantone is the president of Optikos Corp., Wakefield, Mass., U.S.A., and is a senior lecturer in the mechanical engineering department at MIT.
