A pocket transistor radio receiver
X-ray image of a transistor radio receiver from around the 1970s (Bell & Howell Co., Chicago, IL, USA). The transistor radio was developed in 1954. It soon became the most popular electronic communication device in history. During the 1960s and 1970s, the pocket size version initiated a change in popular music listening habits: listeners could enjoy their music anywhere they went. Image obtained with a Nikon XTH225 ST system.
