Optical Imaging and Photography, Second Edition

The book Optical Imaging and Photography is a comprehensive handbook of 765 pages intended to be a reference for anyone who uses optical imaging and photography in their everyday work. It contains a lot of necessary information for experienced physicists, natural scientists, engineers and photographers on one side and students of these fields on the other side.

As is stated in the book title, the emphasis is on photography, but scientific and technical imaging are also covered in detail. In this second edition, there is a section about smartphone camera photography, which is very important for current users and researchers. The book covers everything from optical physics to technical optics (ray and wave optical approaches, including principles of Fourier optics).

Various optical systems, from simple pinhole cameras to complex imaging systems, are discussed in detail. Only elementary mathematics is used, so anyone can read it without problems.
