Optical to Terahertz Engineering

This book considers recent developments in optical and THz technology with an emphasis on their basic principles, notably on the different materials required for THz and optical engineering. There is a broad variety of optical applications that provide concrete illustrations of the methods developed in the 11 chapters, for example, in imaging and secured communication in both the THz and optical domains.

It requires only foundational knowledge of mathematics and physics. The primary audience for this text will be undergraduate classes in optics and optical engineering, but anyone concerned with photonics applications will profit from reading this book.

Review by Christian Brosseau, Optica Fellow and professor of physics, Université de Bretagne Occidentale, Brest, France.
