Cars are increasingly evolving to become like smartphones on wheels, with touchscreens replacing mechanical push buttons and rotary knobs, and dedicated displays for the codriver (the person in the front passenger seat). But, for safety reasons, driver distraction must be kept to an acceptable amount—and codriver displays, like those recently introduced in luxury cars, can cause significant distraction when showing videos or similar functions.
