There’s an old story. A town is being flooded by rising waters, and as most people make their escape, a very religious man sits, unmoving. A fleeing woman passes the man and says to him, “Please come with me.” But he responds, “No thanks, God will save me.” Later, a person in a boat comes by and says to the man, “Please come with me.” Again he responds, “God will save me.”
