Bruce W. Shore—an internationally celebrated theorist in atomic physics, a Fellow of the American Physical Society and The Optical Society (now Optica), and a former editor of JOSA B and of the colloquium section of Reviews of Modern Physics—passed away on 9 January 2021 at the age of 85.
