OSA extends its gratitude to OSA Fellow Alexander “Sandy” Sawchuk, University of Southern California, USA, who has served the OSA Foundation (OSAF) Board as a volunteer since 2009 and as chair since 2015. Both OSAF’s endowment and its portfolio of programs supporting students and early-career professionals have grown substantially during this time—including the addition of the OSA Ambassador program, Siegman International School on Lasers, Innovation School and the Subsea Optical Fiber Communication School.
