Examining Illumination Optics
A recent OSA Incubator Meeting brought representatives of the entire illumination value creation chain together to talk about where the field is headed.

In November 2017, OSA hosted an Incubator Meeting on illumination optics—a large discipline that has lacked a formal disciplinary structure. OPN talked with the four organizers of the meeting—Chi Man Fok of Diffractive Optics Ltd., Hong Kong; Groot Gregory of Synopsys, USA; Julius Muschaweck of ARRI, Germany; and Henning Rehn of OSRAM, Germany—about some of the insights that came out of the meeting.
