Quantum optics is at the forefront of quantum science. The main focus of this textbook is to provide foundational material in a way that can very directly benefit students wanting to jump into research in optical tests of quantum theory, quantum entanglement, quantum imaging and multiphoton interferometry.
This lecture-based book is pleasant and contains careful discussions of a large number of topics dealing with the multifaceted aspects of quantum optics. The target audience for Shih’s book includes undergraduate students of engineering and science, and optical engineers and designers.
